SHAME!!!!

Isn't it really Frustrating....
A city which is considered to be a metro now, with a huge educated population, growing at a tremendous speed, making a mark at the global level and only 45% of her people come to chose leaders for her growth???
You miss no chance to speak of the corruption, the pending works, the hap-hazard growth, lack of proper infrastructure...and on and on. But what do you do about it? Just enjoy at home on the election day, since its a holiday?
Aren't you seeing campaigns going on everywhere...various NGOs, Election commission, newspapers, T.V.s, status messages, JAAGO RE...shouting out loudly..Please vote!!!!
How can you just give it a skip? Many people put up there photos on Orkut and Facebook, proudly showing their marked fingers. Don't you see them? Doesn't the message reach you? Oh! But I forgot. You just don't want to come out of your sleep. The EC and some volunteers try so hard...SMS, phone, visiting various areas and shouting out loudly for you to go and vote, even providing transport facilities to ferry  you to the polling booths....but all is in vain. The 24hrs holiday also dint work.
What else can be done now? Do you want the EC to declare prizes, carry out Lucky Draws with promises of a Dubai trip or a CAR, just like all the Malls to bring in the crowd? If that's the case, sorry, you don't just deserve this city, you Shameless people....

People who have voted, this was not for you.Keep up the good work
The purpose of this post is to solely hurt the sentiments of those non voting guys Any resemblance to anyone's life or actions is indeed intended.

Arey Padhe Likhe Anapadho, bheje mein kuchh ghusa ho toh agli baar to vote karo....

  2. Dude, you are telling about these NGOs, election commission, newspapers, etc... spreading the awareness. But even if there is 100% voting, i don't think its going to do any good for the city or the country. Government ka haalat phatela hai, phatela rahega. But instead of blaming Govt, people can stop expecting from Govt and do the things which are in their hands. Voting is just not gonna help.

  3. @Pawan,
Dude, if you were aware of the situation in our area, you wud have got the idea. There r at least 3 guys doin good work in there respective municipal wards, but there's also a guy who has good contacts wid ppl from slums. Now, tricking these people to come out and vote is easier and the educated lot who truly can understand wats right and wat not stays at home and the good guys lose out on the votes they deserve. I think there must be similar situation in quite a few other places. But I still hope the good guys win

  4. dude.. u are saying.vote karo, Jaago ree and all stuff... Is that all you do?? What else you do..?? putting on ur photos on orkut, facebook, Hi5 is de only thing ppl do. dey dont have nethg to show they have done somethg remarkable. if u really want to do somethg for the govt and society den go to the grass root level and see hw things work. the sweets that u consume might not be of the real milk. u can catch throat of such shops and handover to cops. But NO.. u will do all SHITS on 365*4 + 364 days and one day when election comes, u vote and go around telling the whole world that u are aware of ur rights and voted. Ppl who really care and are doing for the society know that voting is just a miniscule thing. They are really doing everythg for the society 365*5 days and will do forevr. and for others who dont do ne of these things are the ones who work 24*7. so they need a holiday. I guess remaining are de ones who dont have ne LAKSHYA in life.. dey will count to around 5%. That u will have to let go becoz no system is perfect.
In the end, i would just like to say that, dont do around swearing ppl for not voting coz dey are doing much good work dan the ppl who paste their marked FINGER on SNS...

I don't think people who are doing something or the other for the society don't go to vote. And even if they don't, you'll have to admit that such good people are very few, not even 1% of the population.
Moreover, I also don't think that 50% of the population eligible for voting works 24*7 and needs a holiday. I am not asking people to stand in a queue for whole day or travel lengths and breadths of the country just to vote. It takes hardly an hour, that too if you are unable to locate your name in the list. A majority of people just don't care and that percentage is surely not as small as 5%. The post is targeted at these inconsiderate people.
Moreover, we as the tax-payers are sort of share-holders of the company called GOVERNMENT. All the politicians who get paid from the Govt. funds are like the employees of that company. Now, if the company is not performing well and you get a chance to chose the employees, why not? It just doesn't mean that you have to go and do the company's work at the grass-root level. Moreover, you just can't withdraw ur contribution(income-tax) from this company as you could do with any other.

ok.. u say that Govt is a company and we are the shareholders. But u cant deny that all the board members (politicians) are corrupt, ( a ratio of 1:10 non-corrupt to corrupt ratio makes a party overall corrupted ). So elections are like choosing the BEST AMONGST THE WORST... and every corruption starts from the watchman who sits at ur gate. U kno that ur CEO is corrupt along with COO, CFO and others. so either u keep on working for the company without being corrupt (i.e. voting) or start a new organization of urself (it might be ur own party or be neutral and work directly at a grass root level).
people like us have many other complications in life that starting a new organization is not feasible. So we choose to vote. But there are ppl who are working indirectly for the society and when u say the so called MIDDLE FINGER to such people, what are u doing...?? u are discouraging them...
and there are people who get to know abt the elections one day prior when their company declares a holiday. den ppl think they have got a NEW STATUS MESSAGE to display on SNS.. they vote and put their photo on display and show MIDDLE FINGER to others.. dude.. wake up and act matured... do u think swearing ppl and showing all middle, ring, index and other fingers really gonna help.. ???dat too when the voting day is already over??? NOO... if u really wanna WAKE UP such people then why dont u write a BLOG b4 the day of election. Election dates are declared one month prior. U have whole one month to create awareness thru BLOGS, SNS, SMS, word-of-mouth and many more... Do it.. doing it after the elections doesn't help ne1... Even this blog will be the hot topic for may be a week or so.. after that ..?? everyone will forget it... dont take it as a personal comment... this is for all those ppl who do so after the elections.. and going thru all SNS, i can say that 95% of the ppl does so...
I dont say dat ppl r doin somethg wrong by voting.. But when u are accusing others, do think abt wat u have done to create awareness... If u have pasted ur photo sayin TUES IS THE VOTING DAY AND DO VOTE... written a blog, then u can accuse .. otherwise u dont have any right to do that....

  7. and if u talk abt ppl who are aware and still dont vote... just think for a minute... what is voting..?? its ur right and privilege.. u dnt wanna waste it on somethg non deservable... and when u see only 50% turnout, u think ppl are sleeping..? why dont u think that 50% abhi jaage hai..?? and wat more signal govt needs to drill thru their head that ppl dnt trust these million parties in the country any more.. The party u think doesnot deserve to be in the centre, do comes as a ruling party due to alliances... so did my voting serves the purpose??? instead.. target the election commissioner sayin that "only 50% turnout... the electin shld be scrapped..." just becoz ppl dnt want elections to be scrapped and one more round, parties comin on road, begging for vote, traffic jams on road, noise pollution and all stuff, they vote... WTF..??? let there be one more round and let the world and citizens know that NETAS here are of NO GOOD.. then POLITICIANS WILL WAKE UP.... wake politicians and not citizens.. I think citizens are already awake and aware of their rights and thats why u see only 50% TURNOUT...

  8. First of all, I am not pointing fingers at people who are doing good for the society and did not vote.

Secondly, I am not pointing fingers at people who think that all the candidates in their constituency are corrupt. Having a "None of the above" option on the Voting machine would have really helped in getting a true picture of the % of population who are aware of their duty but genuinely feel that there's no one worth. Coz there surely are people who just say that no candidate is worth, without even having a look at their profiles, just to save themselves the pain of going out to vote.

Thirdly, I have seen some people in politics doing good work. In my own constituency, as I have remarked in my earlier comments, there were atleast 3 candidates who have indeed done some good work. One of them is an independent, so there's no question of his party being corrupt. Still the voting in my area was a paltry 46%. I don't think the remaining 54% were really awake and aware of their duty(rather than the right) of voting.

Also, I don't care about those ppl who put up their status messages and photos showing middle/ring/index finger just for the sake of having a funky status message. If you think I am one of those, you are totally wrong. I myself, have seriously kept a watch on the news articles regarding the work being done in my area. Thats why I was able to make an informed decision and cast my vote. I don't think that the remaining 54% people have also done the same and still could not find the best option. Out of the 46% who voted, there are surely gonna be many people who don't have any damn idea about any candidate's profile. Also there are surely gonna be many who have just been BOUGHT by some corrupt candidate. Then people like us, who have access to information, who can make informed decisions but still don't vote just because we(WE as general, not YOU or ME) are lazy, indirectly are helping those corrupt guys.

Lastly, the post was not targeted at people who have some genuine reasons for not voting. And the awareness campaigns that had been carried out shud have been enough, my blog wouldn't have helped. I know that people are aware, but I am sure that most of them are just lazy. I suppose you differ on that point. If you think everyone who has not voted is indeed contributing towards eradicating corruption and is right by all ways, thats your view. Thanks for that perspective.
